Vastu Shastra is an architectural science from India

Vastu Shastra explores how our homes influence the way we feel and live. It teaches that the layout, direction, and organization of a space can affect the flow of energy and, in turn, our well-being. By aligning living spaces with natural forces such as light, direction, and the elements, Vastu aims to create homes that feel balanced, supportive, and harmonious.

One of the core ideas in Vastu is that every home can be understood as a system of interconnected energy zones. Traditionally, a space is divided into nine sectors using a simple 3Ă—3 grid known as the Vastu Purusha Mandala. Each of these sectors corresponds to a specific direction and is associated with a natural element, planetary influence, and an area of life such as health, relationships, prosperity, or personal growth.

By observing how the rooms and activities in our homes align with these sectors, we can begin to understand how the energy of a space supports—or sometimes challenges—different aspects of our lives. Even small adjustments in how a space is used or arranged can help create a greater sense of balance and flow within the home.
